Default plastic /trim repair

ok so im about to put my hatch all back together from the shop but seems like there's a couple of scratches on the original intake airbox , and some rear panels , and some trim. My question is, How can i restore it , can it be sanded down with out losing the shine or at leat bring it back ? ty

I have used the super fine wet sand process which works but as you mentioned it will appear dull. You "might" be able to bring back the shine using a buffer

i was plannign on doing the wet sanding and using "back to black" but looking for another way thnks tho

back to black wont bring the shine back if you wetsand it. i usually just replace exterior trim if its still available. usually prices arent to bad .

What I did I wet sanded with 600 to het rid of the deep scratches and re sprayed with flat black , that was to the air box tho

Dupli-color makes a trim paint that makes plastic and vinyl pieces look good. Ive used it on my door panels, rear plastic trim, dash board. They also make an exterior paint that works on trim too.

Im using the dupli-color stuff now. It works great. I have already painted my side skirts, side molding, mud flaps and wiper blades.
