Had to replace the engine, so had to take out transmission and disconnected the shifter cable from the tranny. Put it all back together but now the Shifter won't move at all. I have to stick the key into the key slot near the shifter to unlock the shifter to move it...... Any ideas guys?

Put foot on brake won't unlock it. Once I put the key into the Unlock slot on the Shifter everything works fine.... until I put it in Park then it is locked up again.

 

See if the brake lights work, check fuse #52 in the underhood fuse box. The switch that you're bypassing with the key slot needs to see a signal from the brakes to unlock the shifter.
