1995 b18b1 . how to correctly tighten the tension bolt
i know how to line up all the timing marks. how do i correctly adjust the tensioner part so its not too loose or too tight??? when working with the timing belt
so loosen the tensioner all the way? than line everything up.. once lined up.. turn crank three to four teeth than tighten?? what if its still off once tightened?
leave the tensioner a lil tight just enough for it to move then turn it counter clock wise then it should tighten up just right
Set number 1 piston TDC,
Rotate crankshaft 5-6 revolutions to set belt, (rotation for crankshaft is
counterclockwise)
As you come to last revolution, set piston number 1 at TDC,
Loose tension bolt 180 degrees, HALF A TURN. Not quarter of a turn, not a full turn
Then rotate crankshaft 3 gears counterclockwise on the cam gear. So you be looking at cam gear.
Tighten tension bolt, and everything shud b good
