i have a 2002 rsx. i blew my motor so i put a jam k20 in it and got the jam ecru. then that motor the head went bad...so i just put another ep3 motor in. k20a3 out of a 06 civic. with the same jam ecru. the problem is that when i drive the car, after like 5 min the motor just shuts off. i start it and overtime it shuts off like 3 seconds after. like i can be revving it and it will still shut off. like i kill the ignition while driving. but if i unplug the ecru and plug it back in i get to go for like another 5 min...anyone know why?????

what is JAM? You mean JDM? And so did you run a k20a?

Why would you run a JDM engine on an EP3? The engines are completely different and not tuned anywhere close to the same?

 

An 06 civic wouldn't have a k20a3

 

yes jdm! and the motor that recently went in is a k20a3

 

What codes is the ECU throwing? Its likely a compatability issue with the ECU/motor combo you described.
