best compression for 240whp+ b20v??
i have a 81.5mm 12.5 compression lsvtec..but i got a good deal on a b20z block...so im gonna take the rods and crank from my lsvtec (scat rods)..and build the b20vtec...with the lsv the most ill make is around 210whp..but i really want to be able to reach 245-255whp...i have a rlz ported head...300cfm...custom bisi header for the 81.5mm but not gonna buy another one unless i get a buyer...and buddy club spec 4 cams...tbone made 247whp on this cams...so the cliff notes i need pistons again..what compression, brand, bore(prob 84.5mm or 85mm) should i get?
More information is going to be needed.
What fuel are you looking to use? That's going to limit your static compression ratio more than anything.
Unless you're looking to run race gas or e85, I wouldn't go any higher than what you're running right now. Hell, I wouldn't have gone THAT high.
You say you know that T-Bone made 24x on his setup....why not build yours around what HE did? Why not read the B20VTEC dyno thread and see what people have done and had success with?
i already have scat rods...so cant use rs machine pistons...and 93 octane...if there was e85 around here i would get 4 pyramids...the reason i mention tbone is cause most people will say to get some pro2s...also have a direct port im looking to run 100 shot later down the road when the allmotor gets boring..some im thinking 12:1 the most i should run...also 84.5 vs 85mm??on stock b20 sleeves..
i know the sleeves crack easy...on b20 but i want to rev it to 9500..or till it makes power...can i go 85mm? or i should go past 84.5mm
Umm.....13.5:1. Damnit, this thing is all foggy. My crystal ball is having all kinds of interference, tonight.....

Dude...do some research and find out the answers for yourself....and find out WHY.
We get sick of people asking to be spoonfed information.
You might as well have just asked "Tell me how to build a 240+HP B20VTEC."

Why can't you use rs machine pistons with scat rods? Forgive me if this is common knowledge, I'm just curious.
This is directly from their ebay add..."NO MODIFICATION NEEDED TO USE AFTERMARKET RODS (ie, eagle, crower & etc)"

the old ones were cast pistons copies so you could not use them without machining c-clips...there a bunch of choices i know but trying to keep it streetable..theres like 20k b20v builds..in this site..normaly i wouldnt mind goinf one by one but dont have the time lately..
so one last question...if i go with rs machine pistons can they handle a 100shot? most importan can the sleeves handle it.. tuned of course...they are 345 on ebay but for 100 more i can get supertech, manley, mahley pistons...
If you stick with the stock bore of 84mm then I am certain the stock sleeves will hold up just fine. I've even seen 84.5mm setups being very reliable. Once you get to 85mm then you're starting to push you're luck with the spray. Can you spray with a 85mm bore on stock sleeves? Sure you can. How long will it last? That is all speculation. I am by no means an expert, I am simply stating what I have learned through my experiences.
As for your piston dilemma... Obviously forged pistons have their advantages over cast pistons. A lot of people use the rs machine pistons because they're cheap, and they have been proven to make power time and time again.
