Default 2001 Civic Manual Transmission ?

Car: 2001 Honda civic LX coupe

Trans: 5 Speed manual

Problem: The car does not move at all !. You put the car in first gear and let go of the clutch and it doesnt move or shuts off!. All gears go into place with out any trouble even reverse.

Check:

Axles all seem fine no grease leak or broke axles and there all the way in. Check to see if shift linkage move with out problems and it seem all gears go in.

Can the clutch be this bad it doesnt work any more?

oh yeah and when I lifted the car and turn the wheels by hand they spun fine with out any problems. and theres no noise at all.

Sounds like a clutch problem. I doubt it's an internal transmission issue. You'll need to inspect the clutch components for damage.

Does the pedal still have good pressure?
Did you just get this car, or does it belong to someone else?
How long had the clutch been slipping before it finally stopped working all together?
