GSR Tranny Leak Issue(s) *Pic Enclosed* Please Help!
Hey Guys,
So 'bout a week ago I was driving and I heard a loud pop/slamming noise. It happened for no particular reason, I didn't bottom out or anything or anything of the sort. Still I was worried so I got out and looked around, couldn't necessarily see anything.
Get the car home, take a look under the car and I appeared to be leaking tranny fluid, big time. I backed the car out of the garage, I'd say there was about a half court of transmission fluid on the garage floor...and tranny fluid appeared to be leaking from the "seam" pretty bad.
This morning was the first morning i was able to jack the car up and take a picture:

So my question(s)
-Why does this bolt look like its about fall out of the damn tranny? (There was no fluid leaking from there) Is it supposed to be fully threaded?
-The initial loud noise, I thought maybe it was an axle or something...the car has not made the noise since, but I haven't driven it either. Anyone ever experience this?
-Is there such a thing as "blowing" a transmission gasket/seal, as I mentioned above it looked to be leaking from the seems of the transmission. If this happened could it be associated w/the loud "pop" when the incident initially happened. But a half quart definitely seems excessive no?
I haven't driven the car since the day of the incident, and its no longer leaking fluid, leading me to believe the tranny is possibly dry?
Has anyone ever experienced anything similar to my experience...any answer(s) to my possible questions? The bolt needs to be fully threaded right?
Would anyone be willing to lift up their GSR and snap a pic similar to mine by chance (long shot) This way I could verify whether that bolt is my possible issue?
Pardon my ignorance in advance, and happy mother's day HT. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm too scared to drive the car to a shop but I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid? I'm just hoping I can diagnose my problem so I can figure out where to go from here.

sure doesnt look correct. personnaly, i would loosen the bolt and see how much thread is holding it in at the moment. that should give you an idea of whether or not its wrong. ie... if you turn it twice and it falls out then its probably wrong. or if anything service manual...
That bolt does not belong there, that is the mounting hole for back-up light switch, no back up lights right?
Also looks like you are missing a transmission housing to clutch housing bolt, to the right and up of the bolt that is in rev. light switch hole, maybe it falling out was the noise you heard.
Have you checked the rest of the housing bolts?
I assume it is the "seam" you are talking about, it definitely looks like it has been apart before. 94

I purchased this car in February, and it was a major hack job, but I knew I could help her. With that said I went against my best judgement and purchased. It was so bad I actually didn't drive it for the first 2, and still don't drive it yet, she just its in the garage right now. (see sig, its been a rough couple months...haha)
I've never looked to see if I had back up lights since I've only driven the car a number of times. (Needs registration) But I would assume your 100% correct.
Can't thank you enough, these are all things I'll look into.
