Default H-T Racer wins first....

Greg (BulldogRS20) won his first victory today in his ITA G2 Integra at Portland. It was Conference / Cascade Sports Car Clubs Doernbecher Childrens Hospital benefit weekend. I was really impressed by the number of spectators bringing their kids to get rides in the race cars at lunch - the line was about 20 yards long.

Gregs whole weekend was run under spotty weather. He had very bad things to say about his Yokohama A032's. Since Mike with the white ITA G2 had dropped a valve, he loaned Greg a set of Hoosiers. Everybody went out on slicks and by the time they were taking their pace lap it started slowly getting wet.

Greg was running in about 4th behind some RX-7's when things started getting really slippery. From where I was watching Greg drove a steady patient pace and with 4 or so laps to go took the lead.

Congratulations again Greg - nice race.

Scott, who is pretty sure summer in the Pacific Northwest is over as of today....

Sweet! My mental telepathy worked! I couldn't help but think about the race and not being there all day today, so I'm glad you posted this Scott. I traded voice-mail with Greg yesterday and he said he qualified 1st and something about 175 degree tire temps (after cool down lap) .
Congratulations Greg Way to wrap up the year. See you both on the 12th!

John -- who really wished he could've been there today

Thanks Scott! It was good seeing you down at the track as a avid spectator!

Thanks to all. I really had to keep my killer mentality in check on a track that ended up feeling like I was driving on teflon coated ice... but the FF car is the real advantage in slick conditions. I was scared for those RX-7s.

It was great taking my first victory lap but rather embarassing when I dropped the checkered flag on the back straight... a turn worker had to jump through the fence and run back about 50 yards to retreive it. I could see the other turn worker laughing as she radioed in my boner mistake! Whatever.

John. I got a killer in-car video. I'll burn a copy for you...

Greg~ who's really jazzed and tired today...

Also, thanks to the East Coast and Cal boys for sharing in our electronic bench-racing... Sometimes the NW seems so far removed...
