painting inside rim questions
going to be painting my kosei's from silver to black i stripped them all down and i want to put my tires on before i paint the faces so they don't get scratched. anyway should i paint the inside of the rims first and let them dry and then when i go and paint the face just mask off the insides? just dont want overspray all over the place
Hey man, I've painted many sets of wheels.
-Don't worry about them getting scratched when they put the tires on, tire shops all know how to do it without scratching the rim.
-I would get the wheel all prepped and ready, set it face down and paint the inside, and then (while the inside is still wet) flip them over and shoot the outside. You will mess up the inside rim paint (where it touches the table or floor), but that will never be seen. This will let the overspray from the outside paint smooth into the inside paint.
