Default PO 1457

I got a PO 1457 and 1457 PD today after driving the car 10 minutes in the morning. The code refers to a vacuum leak in the evap canister area. I suspect a hose might be the culprit and will be checking that later today. Anyone who has gotten this code before found anything else causing the issue? I am sure a canister is expensive to replace, not sure if I can buy the valve on the canister at autozone...

Year trim lvl please?

Ok I searched your code p1457 is evaporated bypass solenoid valve failure.

There is a factory service bulletin tsb 03-001

It affects 99-01 integras all models. Basically states evaporated bypass solenoid valve can fail due to corrosion caused by water getting inside the valve.

Hope that helps most likely its the solenoid valve.

Its a 2000 GSR, I guess if I take it to the dealer I pay for labor only since it is a TSB or for both labor and parts? If the latter, I guess I can buy the part and replace it myself. Thanks for the info. By the way, I checked the hoses and did not find anything, cleared the code and drove it for 30 minutes with no CEL coming on so it might be that the valve is just beginning to go bad and causing intermittent CELs.

It may take a day or two for the evaporated code to come back. But good luck.

From what I read around the most common fix is to replace the evap canister vent valve. I will pull that and see if it's corroded.

To set the code again you have to hit a certain variety of parameters so you mite get lucky for now but it will come back again

Funny thing is I had previously topped off the tank and it did not give me the 1456 code but it was running very low on gas when I got the 1457.

idk what the parameters are, but i know for it to check the system you have to have a certain amount of gas in the tank, it wont test at full or dead low i believe
