Default EP3 lowering springs question.

Hey guys,

So I DID search but couldn't find what I am looking for. I have B-G Suspension springs on my EP right now and I believe that are about a 1.5" drop front and rear. I feel like there are probably better quality springs out there. It seems 1.5" is the lowest I should go to avoid steering rack issues and stuff which is fine with me.

My question is: What brand of spring do you guys recommend between Eibach, H&R, or Progress? Those seem to be the top brands. Let me know if there is something else I should be considering.

Thanks guys!

I do not recomen any lowering springs...they are all to low and not stiff enough for the drop.

I am on the Eibach Pro-kit and have no complaints.

None would really be an upgrade. Progressive springs are all similar.

Are you including the Eibach Pro-kit springs in this assessment?

I am not too worried about the price. I am currently running Koni Sport struts. Dave do you think I should just rock the GC coilovers so I can keep a steady spring rate?

yes...makers of drop springs are between a rock and a hardplace....say you have a car with less than 5 inches upwards suspension travel( like the ep) and all the kids want 1inche of drop. What do you do? A 1 inch drop is almost a 30% reduction in suspension travel( knowing that the bump stops take up some of that suspension travel), so some know nothing tuners would say up the spring rates by 30% and you will be fine....wrong!!!! springs not only have to hold up the car, they also have to control the upwards travel of the wheel after it hits a bump. If you reduce suspension travel, you are reducing the amount of space those springs have to slow down the wheel...so you really need to up the spring rates by more than 60% for a one inch drop.....Soooo why don't the spring makers make springs that high? Put a 60% stiffer spring on a stock damper that that strut is blown in under a week....then all the little interweb want-to-be tuners at bitching that I put these drop spring on may can and my struts are blown....

I would run GC coilovers instead of springs any day of the week! Trust me you will be a lot happier then with lowering springs...
