01 maintenance required light on, no cranking
My newly purchased 01 Civic (after being a Toyota owner for decades) was running great and then after a weekend of no use - it won't crank/turn over. Lots of lights on - battery, etc. but the maintenance required light seems new. Battery showed fine on a voltmeter & everything seems well powered but still tried to jump start - nothing, just lots of lights on. Is this a fuse or computer problem? This car is in great shape - was single-owner always brought to dealer for every milestone (I checked). Not sure whether I should bring it to my mechanic or to dealer for diagnostics?
That's really good to know also - thanks for all the advice. I'm wondering now if it was locked out because of a key issue or someone trying to start it with another key - my owner's manual says the engine won't start if the key was dropped, something heavy put on it or encountered metal - screws with electronics. Anyone know anything about this or how to check for this?

My experience with the 01 - if it's a problem with the key, the car will crank all day long but never start.
Automatic or manual? Check the idiot switch on the clutch pedal if manual.
