Ok, I just picked up a 89 CRX CX, no engine or trans. I got this to make a gas mileage beast out of it, and this is the first honda I have owned, and first one I am doing anything other than OEM maint. on. I have been planning on doing a D15Z1 engine swap, but keep seeing things on his Stage 3 engine, and find the JDM engines. I have read that the manual ECU is Rare and hard to find. I was on another forum, and there was a guy talking about converting an auto ECU to a Manual, by switching a resistor around, but it was a different ecu. I am wondering if anyone has done this with the Auto Stage 3 ECU? I would like to have the gas mileage, but still have some power so the car can get out of its own way. With a Stage 3 engine, it comes out to almost the same specs as a CRX Si, but normal driving, you get VX gas mileage. Can anyone help, or point me into the right way.

 

Or, is there anyone that does these conversions, if not, there should be.

 

There is no such thing as a stage 3 engine nor a stage 3 ecu.
