Default AC Installation: NEED HELP

When I did my swap the AC was removed (despite the fact that I asked them to keep it and even ordered the b-series brackett)... anyway, looks like I'm on my own to get this reinstalled...

These are the parts I was told I need:

- AC condensor
- 2 line pipes
- AC compressor
- dryer
- 2 lines for the condensor
- oil compressor
- and of course Freon...

I already have

- hasport AC bracket
- AC compressor from a b16a clip
- another AC compressor from a USDM CRX

1. What car can I take this from (any 4th gen civic, other civics like 5th gen, other hondas?, etc...)...

2. What's a fair price for these parts?

I got a quote for parts/labor from a local shop - $1100. YEAH RIGHT. So I'm looking at doing this myself - anyone done this before? Can't be that hard...

thanks... maybe I can have this done by next summer..

Well first of all you need to find out what exact type of A/C system your car was fitted with, ie.....Sanden A/C compressor, etc....... You should see a sticker by the radiator support mount which says what type. To my knowledge any 4th gen ED should be realtivley the same (with respect to the type of A/C systems) However you might just want to stick with getting your parts from a CRX. The JDM b16 compressor toss is it's useless, unless you want to spend the money to fabricate your A/C lines. As far a everything else goes my suggestion would be to try a salvage any A/C parts you come across for your CRX except for the filter drier, and expansion valve (the condesor is an iffy one since you don't want one that has been exposed to outside air/contamination/sand/dirt/etc). I recommend getting those parts new, especially your exspansion valve since it's sounds like you have the lines open you probably have it contaminated. Also the filter drier you'll need a new one any way since you be using R134 refidgerant vice the R12. You'll also need to pick up a R134 conversion kit, as well as new O-rings. Good luck.

MrDoHc2, thanks for the advice. The new parts are going to cost me a bit, but I guess its still cheaper than buying a new car... its getting cooler now, but still living in soCA AC is nice to have....
