Default 1990 teg w/ b16a3

Ok so my dad is putting a b16a3 engine in his teg with a b18a1 tranny as I post this. I personally own a crx. I just wanted get some information about what my dads doing. I have some questions. Would you refer to this integra with that engine as a Honda integra? Type R integra or what else? Is there any specific name for putting that engine into a integra although it came from a 2000 civic Si? And does anyone else have this setup in their teg? I want some opinions of this swap

Acuras are actually hondas regardless of engines. Honda makes all the engines. And a b16 with a ls tranny, just stick wit a b20 or another b18. If its a daily driver. Cheaper too

No it's not a daily driver. He has a day drive already it's his project. More of like a weekend car. It cost him 2500 for the whole swap. Its cheaper to go with a b16 cause if he would have upgraded to like say a b18c it would have cost him around 4000$

B18A1 B16A2
81.0x89.0 mm :Bore×Stroke: 81.0×77.4 mm
140 bhp@6300rpm ower: 161 bhp@7600 rpm 111lb·ft@7000 rpm
6500rpm :Redline: 8,000 rpm

S1 Y21

3rd: 1.269 3rd: 1.458
4th: 0.966 4th: 1.107
5th: 0.742 5th: 0.848
FD: 4.266 FD: 4.400

The civic si engine is much less torque(ey) than the integra's, and acheives it at much higher rpms.
It thus requires a closer transmission than the integra's.
Swapping to a b16 could cause more sluggish performance in the lower gears.

What sort of driving will the car be used for? Just joyriding? You might find going into second gear will be "ugly"

Well, the thing thats really gonna hold it back is the tranny, the gears are too long so its gonna constantly fall out of vtec. You would need a b17 or b16 tranny.
