Hi everyone,

I leased 2011 CR-V SE 4WD yesterday. Excellent car, but one thing that bugs me is that the car does not seem to have auto headlights off. I don't mean the sensor that turns light on and off, but just a feature that when you remove the key lights turn off automatically. I had this feature on all my previous cars (post 2003), even 2008 base Subaru Impreza. This is a concern to me because my wife will be driving the car and I am afraid she will forget to turn the lights off once and battery will drain.

Does SE model really not have auto lights off feature? If so what was the reason of not adding this feature - seems not very expensive, I think. Can I talk to dealer to install something that would turn lights off once key is out of ignition without cost to me (wishful thinking right)?

I really didn't think that modern cars would not have auto lights off feature, that's why I went with SE model vs EX, didn't need extra features that EX offers, but as I said didn't give much thought about auto lights since I was sure it was there.

The thing you are telling about the lights is a really serious concern.anyone can tend to forget to switch off the lights.
