Default EK motor question?

I just purchase this 97 civic for $500!
The only thing wrong with it is, the block is a d16Y8 1.6L vtec and the head is a non vtec.....! It starts and drive, but its a little ruff....
but what I am asking if its cool to drive for a couple of weeks until i can get a vtec head?

That question can not be answered without knowing what's wrong with the car. It could be something minor and the engine will keep running for ever, it could be something major and the motor is a ticking time bomb. The head might not be the reason the engine is not running right. It could be the bottom end. Your best bet would be to get a complete engine from either a junk yard or a JDM engine.

CEL's? You say ruff, describe it. What is the car doing?

You 'should' be just fine with a y8 block and y7 head. I say should because you really never know,
