Hi everyone. I have finally decided to turn mi EK4 B16A into a race car.
I have already stripped out interior, A/C gone, i only have to take out moon roof, and change windows for plastic (i dont know the name of the material). Also, im about to send the car to have the cage installed.
The are 3 categories in car racing here in my country. The one im going to participate, only allows a few changes in the engine. 100% of all cars in this series are Toyota, with 4AGE 20v engines, so ill be the first and only Honda!!
Since we must have engines almost stock, i need to gain as much power as possible with few mods. B16A here came with 10.2 compression. They let me increase it to 11 max. Cant change cams (only the ones that came with the engine), intake manifold, throttle body, valve diameter, and rods.
So far, i have a Hytech Tri Y, Top Fuel intake, and SiR cams. What can you guys recommend me? B16B pistons? or just a nice aftermarket head gasket? Fuel regulator? Cam sprockets?

Are you allowed to swap the engine? I'd go to a Jdm type r.

You could use b16b pistons.

Thinner headgasket could get you a little more compression out of it.

What ecu will you be runing?

 

Oops, i forgot, i cant change engine. Engine must born with 180hp max, so B16Bs cant make it.

 

can you have an aftermarket exhaust? if that's all you can basically do. just do basic bolt ons.

 

i could be wrong but i thought b16b's were rated at 176hp stock?

 

I think it's ~185 hp

 

what are your exhaust plans?? Cam gears and a serious exhaust system is all i can think of.

 

180hp max? put a JDM GSR (SiR-G Integra motor in) 180hp, 128 torque

you can only put a 180hp motor in your car or 180hp to the wheels?

 

Transmission mods? Forced induction?
