Default Need help! fuel issue.. fuel comin from exhaust

ok so long story short, had a mean missfire a few days ago. cyl 1 plug was soaked in gas, gas was leaking through the header gasket etc.

got new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, injector, fuel filter even a fpr cause i had a spare..
soon as it started i could hear, feel the difference. Every thing was good untill an hr ago... benn driving all day.
Cyl 1 just misses, i can pull the wire not a single diffrence in the engine.. i swapped plugs a couple times.. cyl 1 plug ends up soaked in gas ??

I even swapped injectors.. Taking cyl 1 moved it to cyl 4.. let it run a min, pull cyl 1 plug.. gas? pull 4 no gas.. so it cant be the injector.

The only thing not replaced is the "thing" lol on the fuel rail that has the line from the fuelfilter.. This is located just above cyl 1 on the fuel rail.. any idea ?

thanks in advance

The fuel in #1 is a pretty serious thing; if there's so much excess fuel it's coming out the exhaust there is also a good chance it's washing the cylinder walls and contaminating the oil. It has the potential to wash the cylinder walls and damage them, pistons, rings, etc.

So don't run it that way.

Sounds like it ran until the new plug fouled and then went back to missing.

The real issue is why, right?

If the problem didn't move with the injector, it seems more likely confined mechanically to cylinder #1.. I suppose there's an outside chance the injector driver is heating up and failing (ECU), electronics can fail that way, but it'd be pretty far down my list.

Have you checked valve adjustment and compression?

Tell us a) what if anything you've changed lately b) about the MMY of the car c) anything significant about the engine (from stock) d) how many miles on the engine?

Good luck

i'd run a dry, then wet compression test. compare the numbers.

Maybe it's not firing hot enough and not burning the gas. Check the cap and rotor, also try a different plug wire to see if that changes anything.

as stated, try swapping the wires around.
if that isn't it, check to see that the injector is pulsing. you can do this by using a 194 bulb from a marker light. bend the tangs on the bulb so they're sticking out. then unplug the injector and plug the bulb into the connector. crank it and see if it flashes
