Default trying to get my aem ems to work

I was wondering if there is anything special you have to do to get the computer to read the ecu? I plugged the ecu in to the car, conected it to the laptop with a serial to usb conector, turned the key on, but it says its not able to contect to the ecu. Am i doing somthing wrong?

Is there anywhere I could get a base map made for my setup?

golden eagle sleeved b18 block (81.5mm)
stock gsr head
precision 6262 with the billet wheel
44mm tial wastegate
aem 3.5bar map sensor
1200cc RC injectors (with a resistor box)
skunk 2 intake manifold

Check your serial to usb adapter to ensure it is working properly.
(Look in the windows device manager)

If you can't figure it out, contact who ever you bought the aem from for tech support or aem tech support directly.

if you figure out this problem please let me know how you fixed it cause right now i'm on the same boat as you. i do know though that you can get a basemap setup for your ems from phearable.net.

It is most likely your usb adaptor. Contact aem tech support. Number is on the aem box

I found the problem. go to "ecu" at the top, go down to "connection port", then make sure serial in selected. Mine was on usb and it wouldnt work lol. Easy fix thankfully.
