considering it's a gps and just a battery, I think a month is a pretty long time if you ask me.. but true, i wouldn't want to charge it either.. however, it does say that it only takes about an hour to charge through your USB port. and if you have an aftermarket deck with a usb port it wouldn't be too much of a hassle

its more so that I would want to stash it somewhere that would be impossible to find, and that would make it a real pain to fish it out and charge it, or it would go flat and i wouldnt realize it lol

I'm with you. I would want to do the same. I think this concept is very cool. Just got to keep power to it so it doesn't have to be charged.

lmao, well apparently I fail at reading.. so I suppose you could just take apart the lighter adapter and hardwire it to a power source so you dont have an easy to see plug hanging out of your lighter that someone can trace to it.

Im actually digging this idea alot. One thing I wonder about is how accurate it is, and if you brought the info to the cops like "hey, heres my car on google earth, go get that ****" if they would take your seriously and go get it.

It's accurate to within 15 meters they claim. Is this realtime tracking?

the more im looking at this, they dont really say you can pull up the info real-time.. it makes it seem like you need to plug it into your computer and pull the data off of it.

yeah check it out, it doesnt track realtime, you have to be able to get the thing back to see where the car has been. which I suppose could help if your able to get your car back to find out where its been.. Assuming they dont find it first.

That's what I thought. Rather useless for the amount of money they charge for one.

Im pretty stand offish about lowjack, and I cant picture paying 30bucks a month for gps tracking.. I mean, I dont need to know where my car is every 5 minutes.. why couldnt they just charge you a fee to track it when you need to.

Doesn't the Garmin GTU 10 GPS locator/tracker do the same thing? It's only 199.00 from Crutchfield.
