This isn't exactly "technical," but I was wondering if anyone on here can help me figure out this carfax report I have on a 99 Civic Si that I am looking to buy.



I did a VIN search on NICB and it said that the title is salvage due to theft. The owner also says that the title is from theft, but the carfax report looks a little weird to me. Is this normal for a salvage title due to theft?

 

maybe it was junked after the theft and was recovered and given a rebuilt title. as u see the dates were not too far apart from the theft recovery.

not worth buying if it is salvaged titled.. if it gets stolen u get nothing back since its salvaged

Its all up to you. Just check every little part of the vehicle for cosmetic repairs. If everything looks fine and its low mileage, It is still worth 3/4 of the kbb value. If its over 100,000 miles than its worth half of the kbb value. Since it is a rebuilt title that is an exception for theft. But tell me, whats the price and mileage?

 

price is definitely the deciding factor here. if youre getting a great deal on it, go for it.
