How many of you type r guys have 205/50/15
on your stock rims. its time for me to get new tires and i am getting the s-03 pp's. and need to know if this size will cause any problems with gearing or the speedo
really. they feal sloppy. i heard that they where one of the best tires out there. i was looking at the azenias but i have read that they are very poor in the rain
i think they feel sloppy because of the 205 being on a 6" rim. I am almost positive, if they were mounted on a 6.5" rim, they would feel so much nicer. Why not get the 195's?

how will gearing be better? like will they be shorther or longer or what?
And, of course, in addition to the speedometer being off, you will also add 1.6 percent more miles to your odometer, too.
running Bridgestone Potenza RE730 205/50/15. don't grip as good as stock, but still handles well. wear is better, price was a lot better
t1-s 205/50/15

I have Azenis in 205/50/15 on a 15x7 rim and I don't feel as confident with it as the stock setup. I think the optimal tire size for the 7" rim is 205 but the 205/50/15 Azenis are a little wider than advertised. My next set will be 205/50/15 S03s and I'm hoping that 205 means 205 with Bridgestones.
I ran the Kumho 712s on the stock rims for a while. No problems. Once I got the air pressure right, they did not seem sloppy at all...

If you have to have Pole Position S-03's, get 195/50-15. They aren't sloppy like the 205/50-15 S-03's. Gearing is better than 195/55 and 205/50, as someone mentioned above. Speedo will be off ~3%. That basically means the speedo will read 50mph when you are actually going 47.5mph. At street speeds (as opposed to track speeds) you will only be off by (at most) 3mph. In my opinion, that is minor.
MOST importantly, since this is a street tire. 195/50's are significantly cheaper than the 205/50's. How much cheaper, you ask? At Tirerack, 195/50's are $79 on special and 205/50's are $110. You do the math. I see no redeeming value for an extra $31 a tire, especially considering that a) these aren't track tires and b) the 195/50's ride most excellently.
Hope that helps.
