How do I replace the rear main seal?
Well, I have finally decided to change the rear main seal this weekend. Just one main thing I forgot to research. How many quarts of oil will I need to refill the transmission? Also where can I find all the torque numbers for every bolt I touch during this job?
Hello, however I left my crystal ball at work today......so
Is this a 96 Accord or a Civic of some year. I'm sure pretty much the same.
Never did say if this was an auto or manual?
So I'm not really sure how to answer the question or questions.

Grab your impact gun. One "bap" = little bolts that don't really do much.
Two "baps" = medium bolt that if it fell out might make you wonder what could go wrong. Three or more "baps" = very large bolt that if it fell out you'd know it because the car would suddenly explode in a ball of flames.

Good news its not the rear main seal. I removed the dust cover before removing the spindle nut and saw no oil on the flywheel. So I proceeded to look on top for the oil leak. Turns out the o ring on the dist. is completely toast, explains why it leaks big time.
