Also vtec shouldnt even be working until your motor has reached operating temp.

Obviously it does not. P2P is the correct ECU. I quote this from another forum
"You can run the y5 ecu, but you wont have vtec. and the p2n ecu is an HX ecu so that has vtec-e, I'm pretty sure, which you dont want. Just try and find a P2P ecu."

That's because it has a baseline map for a boosted setup on it.

Aaaand? What does that have to do with the problem at hand? Find a stock P2P ECU.

why are you trying to get into vtec on an untuned ECU?

Get a chipped p28 and get it tuned.

You didn't say anything about boost in this post. Are we talking about two cars or one? If it's the one car how come your 3 tuners can't seem to hook you up with a decent basemap? My advice is to find another tuner to talk to.

Yea its one car and the tuners around me r all about making money they want 400 buck to even put my car on the dyno. I have one more place to call but im sure they want an arm and a leg to tune it. I know its not cheap but my bank account is kinda dry right now.

So you have an D16A block with a Y8 head boosted running a P06. Is the P06 converted and chipped? Running a stock ECU on a boosted car is engine Russian Roulette. Get a converted P06 if this one isn't or a P28 and a good solid basemap then get it tuned. I would get a chip from Phearable.

As for your bank account-Boost aint cheap so I cannot sympathize. $300-$500 is typical for a dyno tune.

I have a chipped p28 or at least i was told it is ( there isnt a label) but it only starts my car when the engine is icecold im thinking it is the base mase that is on it but they say its a good basemap and it has to be a problem with my car
