JDM B20 bogs/sluggish under 3000rpm
Hey guys, trying to get my 1998 crv to pass e-test and figured if I fix the bog it might pass as well... So I bought the truck with a jdm b20 of the same year and did the old crank sensor bypass trick: (http://www.carolinahondas.com/instal...da-acuras.html) I no longer get an engine light but the truck has no ***** in the low revs untill about 3000, then it feels like vtec kicks in (obviously i don't have vtec) and it moves along happily... I figured out that this goes away once i fully advance the dizzy timing, but i'm pretty sure i shouldn't have to do that. The exhaust also stinks REALLY bad (lean in my opinion). As for the e-test, everything seems to be within threshold except for HC at idle which = FAIL.
I've done a couple hours of research already but haven't found anything helpful YET. So far I've changed cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ran some seafoam through the tank, and am now running some fuel injector cleaner before I swap in a new fuel filter tonight but not too confident that will fix the problem.
Please help! Any info would be greatly appreciated.
