I've been a Honda-Tech member for over 530 days and I've always had a 100% user rating it's now down to 98%! Why? I've done NOTHING to deserve the point deduction! What gives?

 

Sounds like some punk Mod was on a power trip, and thought he would teach you a lesson! Welcome to the club. Now if only we knew what we did "wrong" do deserve such a terrible fate.

 

There's NO lesson if you're not informed as to what caused the point deduction!

its probably somthing u said in one of your post that u didnt think was bad or somthing.. thats what they usually deduct for.

Wait till it happens to you! Only then you'll understand. I don't mind if 1) It was deserved. 2) I was informed as to why the point deduction, so that maybe in the future I would reframe myself for doing so again. The user points are what keep people in line, it's simullar to the law. The law because it's there to give you a reason not to do something, because of a possible outcome. But to get punished with out a hearing, explanation, or legal representation.

well, if they hit 96% they can't have avatars.. nor can they visit all the forums. So I guess it's a bit more "serious" now than before. When I was at 96% and realized I couldn't access all the forums I just spoke with the people in charge and reached an agreement

I do think an IM from the mod who removed them would be good practice though.. saves us from threads like this. Personally I just IM'd around to find out why I lost % and it was because I offended a mod who takes HT *way* too seriously and has absolutely no sense of humor.

 

Im at 97% is that why I dont have the option for the custom user text above my avatar? I still dont know what could have caused me to lose 3% but I could care less

Why do you always get banned?

It seems as if:

1. You post an unpopular (but honest) opinion.
2. You get flamed by a bunch of sheep who call you a "hater" and ask "what do you drive?" (None of these sheep lose any percentage points.)
3. You lose percentage points
4. You get banned.
5. You register again.
6. See #1.

 

I was thinking the same thing...I've never been offended by of his posts. If anything, they make me laugh my *** off.

I don't know why I lost % either. I think i remember someone asking about wheels and I joked about big chrome wheels. Before I knew it I lost %???? Everyone jokes about that.....why do I lose %%% when i do it

 

I was being sarcastic when I used the words "terrible fate," but the point still stands. There is no rhym or reason as to why they deduct points.

Is there an explaination somewhere as to how the system works? How long does the deduction last? What offenses will be deducted automatically?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think I lost mine for typing "In before the lock" in a thread. That was about a year ago... Lame.
