What's my Teg worth?
Sorry for the long thread but I need feedback as to what my 2000 GSR might be worth, it has 190K miles, 5 speed, Milano red, 3 door all stock and purchased from original owner. I got the Teg last year and worked to repair it and make it nice. I did the following:
1. Removed the head and replaced the head gasket
2. Had the valves checked and valve seals replaced
3. head was milled.
4. Changed timing belt, tensioner, water pump, cam seals.
5. New thermostat, O2 sensors.
6. New tires, new Tenzo rims (Black DC6 with red lip, $734)
7. Resprayed car with the same color
8. Replaced the climate control unit with a fully working one
9. New air filter, removed TB and cleaned it, removed intake and cleaned the butterflies, installed new butterfly gasket and IM gasket
10. New exhaust gasket, all drive belts are new, got a new CSF radiator, all hoses are new.
11. Fuel filter replaced, new distributor and rotor/cap
12. Installed red ITR valve cover and gasket kit, new plugs and NGK wires,
13. Replaced interior carpet, replaced passenger leather seat that was ripped.
14. Installed ITR front strut bar, new Silverstar Ultra headlight bulbs, new locust antennae
15. Oil pan gasket replaced, new Brembo blank rotors on all corners, took cluster out and replaced bulbs, changed tranny oil and power steering fluid with new hose.
16. Replaced VTEC solenoid screen filter and gasket
17. Removed and cleaned IACTV
18. Replaced PCV
19. Replaced all vacuum hoses with silicon vacuum
20. Swapped steering wheel for one in better condition
21. Replaced crankshaft seal
22. New shift boot
23. Replaced cruise control steering wheel switch.
24. New OEM front bumper, resprayed with Milano red. Previous one had a rip on a corner.
All parts were new and OEM. It has oriiginal radio.
If I have to sell it, what would be a good price? The car runs great with no issues and no codes. Block inspected and pistons were in good shape, no smoke.

11 year old car with 200K miles. $6K TOPS.
You said everything is new and OEM, but you mentioned aftermarket parts in your list (silicone vac hoses, CSF radiator, etc). Also did you actually purchase the steering wheel, carpet, ITR tower brace and VC, passenger leather seat, etc. all brand spankin' new out of the box from Honda? If not, you need to clarify those things (they would not, in fact, be new if you bought them used). Having inconsistencies like that in your ad is what raises red flags to people.
Also I would sell it with OEM wheels and not aftermarket. You'll NEVER make the price back that you paid for them. If you sell the car with OEM wheels you might actually get a better price, and then you can also sell those wheels separately for nearly what you paid for them most likely.

New OEM parts refers to mechanical parts and hoses/belts (except radiator), I see where I needed to be more clear on that. The other interior parts were sourced locally and are in pretty good condition. I will post pics when I get a chance. The bumper was BNIB from Acura dealership. I have not decided to sell yet, it's just that I am buying my daughter a mini and am not sure I want to have two other cars. I was thinking about the wheels as an option for a buyer who is willing to pay more, or pay less for the car with the old motegui 16" rims that came with the car (curb rash all over 4 wheels). I saw a black (repainted) GSR with 124K miles, so so wheels, and ok body selling for $7250 and I thought that was too high. I am curious.

On yours, since the head was milled, how far off is the cam timing since I see no mention of adjustable gears to put them back where they should be? And why bother with replacing the stock front strut bar with the ITR one?
Hum, I have an 11 year old GSR with 68k miles...
The Cam gears are OEM. It was the first time the head was cut and it was a very mild cut. I got it from the original owner who was not into cars and did not do much to the car. I happened to come across a nice ITR strut bar in mint condition and it dressed the engine compartment nicely compared to the dingy stock one. Keep in mind I had gotten this car to fix it and give it to my daughter but now she is getting a mini so I do not know if I will keep it or sell it. If I keep it, I will do a few more things to make it even better.
x2.....
yeah the motor has some maint. done to it....it wont leak which is a +
w/ nearly 200k miles, suspension components are prob gonna start to grenade soon. Redoing the suspension could get costly. And doing it yourself will likely be a pain in the ***.

Suspension is still within limits but I plan to replace the shocks with a F2 coilover setup. I guess once I post pics of the car it will be easier to see in what shape it is. It's not too much of a pain to do the suspension, I have done that many times on EG, EKs, and I replaced my EP3 OEM units with the HFP suspension.

Others, when discussing wear and high mileage vehicles mean "suspension" to include the bushings, which will be rather worn by 200k miles and are a total PITA to replace if you don't have a press. Tie rods and balljoints are probably also due for replacement.
When some people say "suspension", they mean shocks and springs, which are easy to replace.

well if you want some REAL insight...dont worry about taking pics once the wheels are on...get those pics up...like...NOW lol. Wheels are wheels, dont make the slightest bit of difference on what a car is really worth...lets see it!
I tried to give a local small fry car lot 4500 for a 94 GSR sedan with 137xxx and they laughed at me. Thing is I checked with my insurance company and they told me they WOULD NOT pay out 5000 in the event of a total loss. Where do people get values on cars these days????? Cause retail and Kelley blue book are WAY OFF.......

I was thinking 4k. Need to see pics. I'd be willing to sell my stock(with the exception of tokico illuminas and springs) with 100k miles for $4500. 1 owner. 99% of the time the car is worth more to the owner than it's market value.
What year is yours? The other side of this is market demand. I remember last time gas prices went up a lot, lots of 4 bangers were selling way over priced. I am thinking in the case of a good looking 2000 GSR it will also come down to what someone is willing to pay to get one. I am a bit curious as to the other 2000 GSR I saw on sale last weekend for $7200 with 124K miles. It was gone in two days so I do not know if the owner sold it fast or decided not to sell...

I would not put some cheap@$$ coilovers on the car if you're trying to sell it. Again, the amount you pay for them will not translate to a higher car value (at least not nearly as much as what you pay for the suspension) and you'll end up losing money.
