2005 Civic LX (Broken alternator bolt)
Greetings, Thought I would ask this question to the Honda Community.
My alternator went out last week on my 2005 Civic, while taking the old one out I broke the top bolt off in the bracket. Ive delt with broken bolt ends before by drilling them out or using an easy out. With this one there is no room to get a drill or a elbow drill in there. So I decided to remove the bracket it self and use a drill press. Problem is that the bracket will not come off. Ive removed every bolt including the ones attached to the motor mount. The bracket itself is held up somehow under the timing cover. Could I get any advice on this problem?
Thanks!

I just did my alternator on my 02 honda civic LX and the bracket wasn't held on by anything on the timing cover.?!? Use the FAQ thread with this link

Are you referring to the bolt that attaches to the wing nut used to adjust belt tension, if yes, there is a bracket held on by two 10mm bolts that can be removed and you'll have access to drill it out.
