Dual power wires on single fuse
Hey, I was going to go buy a power wire, prolly an 8 gauge or 4 gauge, then i pulled this out of my friends parts car...

I never seen a set up like this, with two smaller wires leading to the fuse holder.
Has anyone else seen a set up like this? what would be the reason to do it this way over just one bigger wire? If this is as good or better then a regular single 8 gauge power wire then imma go and use this. saves me some money lol. Im thinking if it was two 8 or 10AWG wires it would equal something like a 4 or 5awg wire... sound plausible?
Thanks again

I personally have never seen that before. I wouldn't do that. Why, because it's easy to run 1 single wire to a distribution block, and then 2 wires from there...
On my stereo now, I have 1 4 gauge wire(1 fuse) to a distribution block and then a 4AWG to my 2 channel and a 8AWG to my 4 channel. It's work fine and I have never had any issues with it. Everything has been in the car for about 2 years.
However some will recommend running 2 separate wires from the battery. I won't tell you it's right or wrong to do that, just what I have done.
What amp's do you have? DO you have any of the paper work? Sometimes the company will tell you what gauge you should use.

your knowlage surpasses mine, im not sure what a distribution block is, sorry =[

Basically it does just as it sounds. It takes power from 1 line and gives you the ability to run multiple lines off of it.
Example 1 4AWG going to it, and will let have 2 or more coming out. Sort of what the person did, but a little different.
You can run 2 amps ( or whatever else you want) without having to run 2 amp wires.
I would think that amp could run a 8AWG and be fine.

is there a way i can run these two wires into 1 amp... basically making it act like 1 fat wire that just happens to no be inter-twined?
if not then i'll prolly end up just buying myself an 8awg wire lol
thanks again

You could take the 1 line out of the fuse and just run the one. However depending on what guage/ type of wire it is.
I also reccomend using name brand kits. A lot of the other no name cheepo brands will sell you a 8AWG kit that has a lot less little wires in side of it compared to others.
I can't find the pics, but I had a comperison of my old wires. 1 no name brand, 1 rockford. Both 4AWG but the rockford cable had A LOT more wires in it.
