Default need some education

hi guys, my name is luis and i'm from Mexico, as you can tell by my user name i'm a ford fan, a mustang to be exactly, i joined the forum just to get some questions answered, i'm not here to ofend any one just need some education on the 4cyl engines, specially Hondas

a friend and i were debating about what it takes to make a 8 sec car, and he says its easier and cheaper if you do it the "nipon powa" way, i tell him that an 8 sec car isn't easy in any form, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, cylinders will have to make seriously modifications either to the drivetrain, chassis etc etc he says that with 10k dollars you can do it, i say BS, the car would be a civic hatch

thank you for your time and sorry if my english sucks lol

In 2400lb form its pretty hard and costly, make the car a tin can and 8's will be a little bit easier and cheaper.
