Default Innovate XD-16 Re-Calibration

Need some quick help... I accidentally performed a free-air calibration on my XD-16 the other day while driving and I can't seem to get it back to normal. I just went out and tried to re-calibrate it by hitting the control button 3x fast and then once when it flashes "CAL".... After I hit the button the last time to do the calibration the display bounces all over the place and does not read "CAL" without blinking like the manual says it should.

Anyone else run into this? Do I need to physically disconnect the O2 sensor from the exhaust to do the re-cal? And yes I am trying to do the re-cal with the engine off....

I tried searching and had no luck...

Thanks and yes I am a bonehead....

it is best to removel the 02 sensor from the exhaust, then plug them 02 sensor from the wideband, then turn the wideband on let it give you an error for about 10 to 15 seconds, turn off the wideband and then plug the 02 back into the wideband still out of the exhuast and let it do a calibration once that is done, do a free air calibration, then plug it back into the exhaust and you should be good to go

I always recalibrate it when decel an flashing 20.9 o2. Pull some revs like 5k and decel then calibrate.

The proper way is to pull it out and do a free air calibration so the calibration is dead on. The decel option is pretty smart and pretty lazy, lol.

I have allways get good result with that way. If i push any gas it when calibrating decel it gets wrong calibration and then the gauge is really crazy and values are not steady. I remember i got this way from some innovate manual or forum. I have been using lm1 / xd1 / xd16 5 years. Still same lambda and engine is my 3rd or something lol.

My lambda is easy to take off so im gonna remove it and do real free air calibration to see if there is any difference. Car is now running open loop all time with crome gold.
