Default Ignition switch

So i replaced my ignition switch with an automatic one, and in order to release the key i have to unground my battery. Is the a way to bypass this on the switch?

If not, whats the best way to remove the ignition switch off the column. It seems to be held on like the tps is, threaded in with a round head. Can you chisel the bolts free and back them out?

Its annoying popping my hood to release the key. thanks in advance.

I replaced my ignition assembly yesterday. Technical Service Bullentin 02-031 helped provide guidance. You have to lower the steering column, start with using a center punch and then drill out the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the column. Started with a 3/16 bit and worked my way up. I was replacing the entire assembly with a new one so I was not worried about drilling out the receiving threads.
