Default My 2000 GSR'd 5 speed AWD CRV build

Well I swapped the motor in my crv last weekend. Heres my build thread:

I bought a bone stock 2000 cr-v 5 speed EX in november for winter duties. It had 183K miles when i got her.

It would smoke sometimes after sitting idle for a few min and burned some oil. (Figured it was valve seals, heck with 185K miles i was just happy it still ran strong) I drove it all winter just fine. In Febuary I was bored on craiglist and found and ad for a 1992 Integra with a rebuilt 1997 b18c1 GSR swap. It was hit in the front end and the kid was asking $1500 for it. After trying to get it running for 2 days I ended up buying the whole car for $900, since it was leaking out of the headgasket. Throughout the last two months, I parted out the Integra completely. My mechanic pulled off the head and asked if I wanted him to take the block apart since the head was full of sludge.

When he took the crank off, he noticed the cheap KING bearings were pitting only after 10K miles since the rebuild. I ordered ACL main, thrush and rod bearings along with new piston rings. To my surprise it had .20mm overbored ITR pistons!

I used ARP headstuds, and changed every single gasket thru out the engine. I also had the head hot tanked and shaved and the block hot tanked. We just put the engine in over the weekend and its running good. I'm using a chipped p06 ecu with a obd2-1 jumper harness.

mods are:
Skunk 2 pro manifold
K&N drop-in filter
ACL bearings
Exedy oem clutch
Stock header and exhaust but DC 4-2-1 header with full 2.5 inch exhaust coming soon
06 tsx rims (waiting on tires)
Fluidyne Radiator

Needed to use upper and lower GSR power steering brackets and an integra throttle cable. Other then that it dropped right in.

How is the AWD system holding up so far? Have you noticed any problems so far with this swap?

So far its holding up well. I havent launched it hard yet. Did one launch at like 3500rpm and it bogged for a second. I'm thinking 5Krpm will be its sweet spot.

Only issue I had was with the power steering pump. I used GSR upper and lower PS brackets but the CRV pumps, lower mounting hole sticks out 10mm too much, causing the pump to hit the frame. We grinded down 10mm off the pump at the mounting hole and it sits flush and fine. As far as belts go for AC and power steering I dont know which length was used since my friend had about 20 belts at his shop from previous swaps and we just went by trial and error. Whenever I get free time i'll put up the part numbers for each belt. We used the GSR dampener since its balanced for 8K revs....

to launch awd you need to be above 5500 rpm..in my evo anything below and it will bog..i usually launch at 6000rpm pulls like a bat outta hell..

not really...it could have if the b20v was giving more internal work done but here is a b20v crv and it pulls pretty much the same as this gsr crv

Isn't 6000 rpm too much strain for most engines?

Haha yeah for most but not b-series VTEC engines

I didnt want to go b20/vtec just because i wanted something really reliable and fuel efficient. My b20 already had a million miles and wasnt worth the rebuild in my opinion. Plus after parting out the integra it was like a free engine + rebuild.

including the drivers side mount???? i have a full set of Innovative mounts for an EG and they all work, minus the drivers side mount....i looked up honda part #'s and pics of the EK vs CRV mount and they are noticebly different. so ive wondered if anyone has actually tried it to confirm for sure.

thats what had been troubling me for my Jseries plans in my other V.. at forst i really
wanna do a K swap but the mounts kinda hold me back... one of my friends told me
that eg mounts were the closest but thr driver side might need a LOT of modding....

this needs confirmation from scheeffee...!!??? pic would help a lot.

ive put the trans mount and rear mount of the crv next to the innovative eg mounts and they are identical. so im confident in those 2 lining up. i dont have an ek drivers side mount though. maybe ill put up a wanted add on my local motorsports forum and see if someone has one i can borrow for comparison.
