how to wire up jdm ef9 tail lights?
If you have an ECU pin tool or a paper clip, the color code for jdm and usdm wires are the same. Just transfer the wires to the usdm plug and your good to go. Let me know if you need me to take a pic of the usdm plug.
i dont get it. i was orignally thinking of just cutting and splicing because i dont have the plug from the tail light...jsut the wire harness with the wires coming out of it. but i still have the usdm plugs from the car. pics would help. thanx
you can use your USDM harness insted of the JDM ones. this is what i did when i put the JDM lights on my REX. or if you prefer you can cut them and i would recommend solder them together for a clean connection.
from what i read, u guys are suggesting putting the old usdm tail light plugs on the end of the jdm tail light wires. i dont have the old usdm tailights for my car. im planning on just cutting and splicing the wires...cutting the plug off the usdm wire harness coming from the car and just splicing the wires together with the wires from the jdm tail lights. is this ok? or do i need to find the plugs off some usdm taillights? thanx for the responses guys
As long as you use a good connector and tape it up good should be sufficient. But if you can get a usdm plug then that's preferrable. You want to be able to connect and disconnect and at the same time have a clean and good connection.

the 5 colored wired from the jdm tail lights are the same as 5 colored wires coming from the usdm harness, right? so all i need to do is colormatch them together?
i just cut and spliced...everything worked out ok, but i dont know if the blinkers work..i think the fuse for the turn signals is burnt...gotta get a new one...now i need to figure out how to wire up the center piece....i got the jdm tail lights with the red center piece with the "civic" part that lights up...any ideas how to wire that up? i have the little transistor/fuse box that goes with it to get it to work.
thanx in advance
