Default how to do a b series in a 97 coupe

what do i need to do a b series swap in a 97 coupe what shift linkage do i need and can i use the stock wireing harenesss like the eg what axels would i need? thanks for looking

on a 97 civic coupe, in order to do a b series swap you need the 200 civic si rear T bracket for the tranny. Its a special mount for that chassis to accommodate a b series motor. Second of all which model do you have? DX? EX? If you went with a simple LS swap (B18a1, B18b1) you could use the stock DX harness because no vtec is involved. If you went with a b16 or GSR (B18c1) or Type R (b18c5) (basically any b series motor w/ vtec) you will need the EX harness. Im not 100% on what shift linkage you will need. Search around for that answer. Other than that its pretty much a straight drop in. Also, you need to research and find out (if you have a DX and you want to run a b series vtec) if your car has the wires that run from the firewall harness to the ecu for vtec. If it doesn't you need to add pins to the connector at the firewall and run them to the ecu so you can have functioning vtec. Hope this helps, good luck.

In order to swap a B series into an EK you must have 99-00Si rear T-Bracket and driver side block mount in order to correctly mount up to the engine bay. Like what dxlol said, if you don't have a EX you will need an EX harness or you have to hook up Vtec yourself. Also you need a OBD2a ecu if your running a GSR or conversion harnesses to OBD1 or OBD2b ecus. Shift linkage you can run either Integra or EM1 linkages. Axles, any B-series axles will work.

Read my swap thread I'm sure it'll help (( in the case of an LS and staying obd2a ))

As far as shift linkages... I'm sure they're all the same except for the Del Sol b-series shift linkage...

Axles should all be the same + intermediate shaft

I don't have a step-by-step write up on it but I'm sure my swap thread will be very helpful.
