Default why does this Adjustable Cam gear have a low price

I was just curious as why this is only $30 they have to be shitty right?

but at the same time how CAN it be that bad?
as compared to the awesome Bisimoto cam gear.

the only difference i see it that it has two extra bolts
and it doesn't say it has a Hard anodized coating
and it doesn't say it can handle over 12,000 rpms
and it doesn't say its non slip
and it looks like the degree marks are painted not engraved

And thats why it is $30. You have no idea what kind of quality you are getting and what it can handle. You may not be able to see tiny imperfections in the teeth or maybe they are all not exactly even. Who knows, but something as important as a cam gear, i wouldnt trust it. The idea and construction of a cam gear is fairly simple, but if it messes up or skips a tooth then your whole engine is gone. Not worth the $30 IMO

Honestly, I got my genuine Skunk2 cam gear for about $50 if I remember right.. It may not be as bulletproof as the Bisimoto, but at 1/3 the price i'll take it...

Reputable brand at the right price... My dream

Paint your OEM one purple.... An adjustable cam gear on a SOHC is kind of a moot point. Aftermarket camshaft or not. 9 times out of 10 an aftermarket cam has been ground to perform at TDC anyway.

If your only going for looks but the OEM gear just isn't good enough. Buy the bisi one and paint it /anodize it purple. Stay away from the cheap shyte gears!

So are you saying that if I get a Bisi Stage 2 cam the benefits of getting the bisi cam gear as well will be minimal? Can your car be tuned with the oem cam gear and stage 2 cam or is a adjustable one needed.

I am saying that it's not a necessity. Most of the SOHC tunes that I have seen don't bother with the cam gear timing. However, they could benefit if your looking to get every ounce out of an engine build and your tuner is willing to take the time and make the proper adjustments.

i dont even understand how you could adjust much on sohc. i just like how they cam gears look. are you suppose to adjust it to get more fuel/intake or more exhaust by the degrees of advane and tard?

like if you advanced it one degree, would that mean that the fuel/air come in the cylinder just a little bit sooner than normal in relation to the piston ................ that probably makes no sence at all i dont know how they work!!

I'm all for buying cheap stuff off of eBay, but I never buy it if saving $100 can ruin $2,000 worth of parts.

I believe the idea behind them is to tune out valve overlap which may give a stock Accord 0.01hp/tq gains if you spent an hour fiddling with them on a dyno.
