Default valvespring question

i have a ls motor with gsr trans, intake, itr header, and 2.5 exhaust its pretty quick ive beat some ls vtec's some gsr swap cars.....

my friend has brian crower stage 2 cams that he used to have in his ls.. but one of his springs broke in half... yes they were bc springs so im going to buy his cams off of him but im not too sure on what springs i want to run.. obviously im not gonna buy any bc springs if they break...

i was thinking of getting supertech springs or bisi springs... now with the retainers do i have to run aftermarket titanium retainers or can i keep the stock ones? only reason i ask is because ive seen retainers fail... obviously whatever company i get the springs from im going to get retainers too unless it would be better to use stock...

i dont plan on revving the car over 7700 rpms as the block still has stock rodbolts... and i know this is in the all motor section so my bad.. but i also plan on boosting it later on down the line..

any help would be appreciative thankyou in advance

If your staying around 7700 rpms then Honda retainers should be fine. I haven't built my head yet but I'm looking into bisi or skunk2 springs. Also, I've never heard of BC valve springs failing so I did a quick search and found this:

Hard to say if it was properly installed, if valve lash was in tolerance and so on

Hello sir,
Just thought I would share a little information of the Bisimoto spring and retainers:

The all motor Bisimoto springs are high RPM duty windings with excellent longevity. Street duty of over 90,000 miles, and 2 season race duty. Titanium retainers included for lightweight durability. For naturally aspirated engines. 72 pounds at seat, with installed height of 1.32"; 191 pounds at 0.400" lift. Max lift of 0.555" and bind at 0.766" lift.

We do also offer for turbo and supercharged applications, or all motor race over 0.510" lift. 86 pounds at seat, with installed height of 1.32"; 260 pounds at 0.560" lift. Max lift of 0.590" and bind at 0.725" lift

These are the same springs and retainers Bisimoto uses on all of our project cars and race cars as well as many other customer race cars and street machines.

If you have any other question you can PM me or check out the website at Bisimoto.com
