Icon6 Transmission Leak

So I fixed a leak I had with my tranny (drive shaft seal) the tranny fluid almost came all out from drive it with this really bad leak so I decided to drain what was left a quart maybe came out anyways I could not remove the fill bolt omg I nearly stripped it dam you bolt now I need a back up I heard about may filling it thru the speed cable but that's also a pain please help what is the easy way at this point I really don't want to tow the car to the shop! Oh I have a 89 hatch si.

You already mentioned the best way- cable hole. Really any hole in the top of the tranny will do. Get a big, long funnel. Big enough it holds at least a quart. And set aside some time 'cause it takes awhile

Yeah the best way to do it is under the speed sensor.

Nah.. the best way is to jack the car up on all 4 corners so it is level, then get a funnel with a 3+ foot rubber hose and fill it through the normal fill hole from the top. far easier than dealing with removing the speedo cable, removing the sensor, and replacing all that buried behind the manifold and the heater hoses and the fuel lines. Ive done it both ways, and you will spend less time driving to the store, buying a 3 foot rubber hose that fits to a funnel, and driving back to your house and filling it through the factory fill hole, than you will getting the speedo cable out and still needing a funnel with a hose to fill it and putting the speedo gear back in and the cable reseated and test driving it to make sure you still have a speedometer and loosing that damn tiny clip that disappears and cost $5.
