Wife informs me that the air in her commuter (90 accord)is not cooling. Upon inspection, I find that the belt running the compressor/alternator is broken and fraid. Car still drives fine. When I dropped off to mechanic to do belts he calls and stated that the balancer is bad. I woulda thought that I'da noticed that in driving the car... Could he be right or fulla ?

 

It depends on what kind of failure mode its in. If its in the early stages it may have just started to happen and chucked the belt. You can always visually inspect the part on the car if he has not replaced it yet, or ask for the damaged part after replacement.
