Default Sedan/Hatch interchangeable parts...

I've been working on a '90 Civic Si Hatchback and it's almost complete, minus some things I'm still trying to track down. Just scored a '90-91 Civic Sedan which is almost complete, and I'm trying to figure out what I can rob from it for my hatch.

Here's a list of some things I'm needing, can I pull any of this from the sedan parts car?

-Gauge cluster shroud
-Passenger wiper arm
-Fender liners
-All other front end shrouds
-Front seats
-Some odds and ends for my dash, like the knee and kick panels
-Rear-view mirror
-Window crank handles
-Center console
-Radio/climate control console
-Parking brake handle and shroud
-Hose and T-fitting for the windshield wiper nozzles
-Hood hinges
-Dome light switches

I already plan on taking the ICU and wiper switch from the sedan and putting them in my hatch so I can have intermittent wipers, and because I accidentally fried my ICU. Read several threads about this, but if I was mislead I could use some more info on this before I fry something else.

cluster shroud different
wiper arm ok
fender liners should be ok but fenders themselves are diff
seats different
Dash panels are different unless the sedan is an 88-89
window crank handles ok
center console is different but might work 90-91 has different style for power seatbelts
radio and climate ok
parking brake ok but cables are different length
The rest should be ok.

All suspension is the same minus the brake cables unless your sedan is an EX in which case it would have bigger front brakes and booster

The front seats are different? This is probably the most important thing I needed from that sedan, crap.

The WHOLE point in even getting that sedan was because I have no seats. Well, I do have a set of DA seats...but those won't really work.

And as far as I know, that sedan had some front-end damage and doesn't run. I'm just buying it for parts, running me a hundred bucks which isn't too bad.

Is a sedan glove box different from a CRX one?

Do a seat pan swap. You will need the lower seat pan from any 90-91 civic hb (not 88-89)
I did a complete writeup on it. Takes about an hour and it is really kinda straight forward you can swap integra, sedan, whatever you want so long as you have the correct pans so they bolt in just fine

No Civic HB seats around here, and no junk yards within a reasonable distance have any EF hatches.

All I have to work with is a set of DA seats, and soon those sedan seats.

I've been building this heap for about 7 months now, and the main things I need I can't find anywhere...

90-91 Si gauge cluster
90-91 gauge shroud w/ screws
90-91 seats, don't have to be Si
90-91 sunroof glass

Everything else I need either isn't that important, or can be pulled from the sedan. I was REALLY banking on those seats working in my car, but Honda and their apparent hate for interchangeability strikes again.

I have also been searching high and low for any EF hatch to use for parts, but I'm not really wiling to go over $200 and I'd only spend that amount if it were a 90-91. Basically looking for something that got t-boned, or blown motor, title-less, etc. In the last 7 months I've found one hatch for sale with a blown motor, but beautiful inside and out...they wanted a grand for it and it was almost 3 hours away.

A 90 civic hb just went up for sale about 5 minutes from my house. Don't know what transmission, trim or color but he claims it looks nice inside and out but burns a LOT of oil and has whooped tires. Dude is asking $700, if I can get him down quite a bit on price this will be a parts goldmine and will result in my Si project finally being done.

Just bought a 1990 Honda Civic DX hatchback, tan on tan, 5speed, burns oil, 8/10 overall condition, 100% complete...for $500. I saw the listing for it on CL barely an hour after it was listed, and it was only 5 minutes away! Too bad it's being butchered for parts, and then sent to the scrap yard...but hey, Si > Dx so I don't feel bad about it.

If that's not luck, I don't know what is.

Would the tail lights from a 91 hatch fit a 91 civic lx?

Front bumper will not fit. The sedan bumper is longer than the hatch.

No, front bumper is not the same. I made the mistake of purchasing a brand new sedan bumper for my hatch and it was too long by about 2 inches or so on each side. I still have the sedan bumper if anyone is interested!
