IMPORT FACE-OFF race class and payout changes...
Just a heads up for 2012... after the racer dinner meeting last Saturday night, the general consensus is FWD racers would rather still stick to racing other FWD cars only. However, for next year, anyone still running on 26" tires will have to race in the FIP class with the A/RWD cars... A2W and 72 still OK for the FWD class, just going to be a 25" tire limit. Regular IFO racers ONLY, feel free to post your opinions on this change. Internet sh*t talking/whinny e-racers, keep out!
Also, due to the outstanding racer support and spectator turnouts, payouts are going up again! This will start mid season after the last May, 2011 event... same low, $25 entry fee at most all locations...
FWD Q8 - $1000 1st, $400 r/u, $100 semi, $100 semi
FIP Q8 - $800 1st, $300 r/u, $100 semi, $100 semi
AMP Q4 - $500 1st, $200 r/u
FIS Q16 - $300 1st, $100 r/u, $50 semi, $50 semi
AMS Q4 - $200 1st, $100 r/u
OL Q4 - $350, $150 r/u
BR - $150, $50

you just had to change the payout AFTER montgomery one. oh well...still a few other IFO's to attend after the may one. Sounds good cliff. Small changes at a time rather than rewriting the whole damn book. Let me know if you still need backup support for tech and stuff at events.
We can still run on 25s and make some fun runs, Next year!
Thanks for letting the class stay like it is for the rest of this season, Cliff!

I think it's fine if you want to move the faster cars up, but the payout shouldn't be cut at the same time.

There are quite a few cars with 26's and a very very small percentage of them are running more than a few tenths faster than the rest of the class. I think separating the class is foolish at this point.
Max has won the last two events. He tries harder than anyone I know at these IFO events right now. He is winning because he wants it and he's busting his ***. Now the 'regulars' aren't winning and it's a problem.
You can only sit by and not try to go faster for so long before someone who is going to try starts winning.
I like running the FWD class and have for years. I have been working a long time trying to make my stuff as fast as possible within the rules. I have been out of it for over a year now just to step my game up and be competitive. I don't want to run FIP, so now all this time I have spent is for nothing because a "regular" is crying?
not A regular, most ALL of them... the ones we see competing and supporting the events, race after race, year after year, all over their regions, sometimes never even winning.
Of course the few 26ers are not going to like, but majority rules, sorry. Again, yall can still race in FIP against eact other instead of running against the smaller guys.

Fine, bump the payout in FIP to match FWD. Doesn't seem like too much to ask.
You know it's the faster cars that bring in the crowds.

yep, most likely will actually. We'll see how it goes. If the rest of the season goes as good as it's been going so far, most definitely!
