Default 94' Honda Accord LX - Question about EGR passages...

I've heard from a few people that clogged EGR passages are especially common in older Hondas and would like to know if this is true? I'm thinking this would be true to any older car in general. And I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate on an average price range to get them cleaned out at an autoshop/mechanic? I live in California and must have a smog certificate verifying that my car passed the vehicle emission standards for this state to register my vehicle. Well, my car failed the smog test and the place I went to is charging me $369 to clean them out, just wondering if they're ripping me off?

Why did it fail, what value was above passing?

It isn't to hard to clean them yourself. I did mine with a guide that is in the FAQ.

Took me like 45 minutes or an hour and I was really taking my time/being careful

@gogydm: I was told it failed the smog check because the EGR passages were clogged, I didn't ask and wasn't given any specifics about the passing value, but they basically told me once the passages were cleaned I'd pass.

@19Accord97: I've really been thinking about just doing it myself and 45min-1hour doesn't sound bad at all, I have all the time and drive in the world to do it, but I'm not sure if I have the necessary tools and mechanical knowledge. I know little to nothing about auto repair. I'll look into it though. Could you tell me what tools you used to clean it yourself?

What did you use to clean it? Some kind of long wire brush and special liquid or what?

I was just asking because smog people some times try to rip you off, the NOx values usually get high because of a clogged EGR. It is a simple procedure as you already know.
