what are your funds?

if you are trying to keep it cheap if you get a set of pm3 pistons out of a d15b7 that should take you a little above 12.1 or a set of p29's and that will take you a little over 12.5:1

no, keep your stock rods and get ARP bolts. also mill the head around .03" and look into some PM6 pistons out of the a6. this will put you in between 11 and 11.5:1 compression while keeping it all OEM parts. you cant run the PM3 pistons anyway unless you modify them heavily.

Have you run this setup? ive been thinking about running pm6 pistons in my d16y7 block with a d16y8 head. i havent found too many positive accounts of running this setup yet. nothing to make me think it will be 100% ok. nonvtec pistons with a vtec head concerns. the y7 i got to work on might need bore due to rust on cylinder walls, so instead of oversized y7 pistons the pm6s would give about .5 more cr w online calcs but im still concerned with bending my valves... i guess i could clay but i would have to purchase the pistons first and i dont want to blow $80 if it might not work out.

i personally havent but there have been other people with y8 heads using PM6 pistons with no issues. its always a good idea to clay the motor when swapping pistons anyway.
