how to make higfh compression Y8
Ok i spun a bearing in my 98 Civic Ex. I tore it down but also ordered a D15B to jus drive wit why i build my y8...in everyones opinion im looking to run about 11or 12.0-1 compression. im new to enteranals ona motor i can build heads but never did a bottom end. i need it strong. i wanna run all motor.
what are your funds?
if you are trying to keep it cheap if you get a set of pm3 pistons out of a d15b7 that should take you a little above 12.1 or a set of p29's and that will take you a little over 12.5:1

ok cool thanks ima xcheack out the P29 see what they run price wise. im in no hurry becuase i wanna do it right. should i use eagle rods? ive heard everyone say there the best. but im not sure
no, keep your stock rods and get ARP bolts. also mill the head around .03" and look into some PM6 pistons out of the a6. this will put you in between 11 and 11.5:1 compression while keeping it all OEM parts. you cant run the PM3 pistons anyway unless you modify them heavily.

i personally havent but there have been other people with y8 heads using PM6 pistons with no issues. its always a good idea to clay the motor when swapping pistons anyway.
