Hello everyone,
this is my post here but Im looking for some help from you gurus out there. My friend recently purchased a 1996 Honda accord EX. The idiots she bought it from swapped a motor in and left a bunch of stuff unhooked from the motor. We pretty much got everything wired back up with the exception of the VTEC pressure solenoid. Looking around I see 2 teal connectors, one in the front and another in the back which is plugged into the fan switch. There is nothing plugged into the VTEC pressure sensor. Everywhere I search says that this is a teal connector. The one from the radiator fan switch is the same teal connector. However, we cannot find another teal connector anywhere to plug in here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Check to see if maybe the people doing the swap might have wrapped it around the main harness or tucked it out of the way somewhere. The VTEC connector is usually located in the engine wire harness along with the engine coolant sensor connectors, fuel injector connectors, TPS, MAP etc...etc...etc. If it is not part of that harness you will have to run separate wires.

Where are you located? reason I'm asking, is becuase the Canadian EX Accord is Non VTEC and the US EX Accord is VTEC. Therefore if it is a Canadian EX there won't be a teal VTEC connector. You will have to add the VTEC wires yourself.

 

Thank you so much Ghost, I checked around the harness as best as I could but will check again. We are located in Texas so it should be a VTEC model. I will check to see if the pins on the ECU for VTEC are present, if not I will run them. Thanks again for the speedy reply. Take care.
