Default balance shaft/engine rebuild question

i am in the process of switching out a block in my cb7, i had a head bolt strip out on me. i have decided to rebuil th emotor and had a couple questions. i was originaly going to use my crank and rods in the new block. wanting to know if i can do that or should i try to use the crank and pistons from the block since they are mated together better? and the balance shaft need to stay wih the block it came with? my intial plan was to get bare block and swap all my parts over. but now thinking i should just get a shortblock and rebuild everything in it. and last question is how to to remove the balancer shaft from the housing/gear thig? i removed the 12mm bolt from end and looks like it pressed on there, any help? thanks

Yes that bolt is the only thing holding the gear on. Just work it off and have patience. It sucks, nut thats how to works.

Here is what's up with re-using crank/pistons/rods or whatever.

You NEED a manual and you NEED to take measurements. Make sure all the clearances are within specification.

Also, use the correct bearings. Don't forget the balance shafts have bearings as well (they need to be pressed in/out at a machine shop.)
