speedo cable problems...

well i just put my speedo cable in my crx, but how do you know when its hooked into the tranny, i just put it in the tranny and went for a test drive and no speed is registered, i tried it again and still the same thing, anything im doing wrong...

on the hollow metal post that you put the cable into there is a horizontal slit about 2/16 of an inch thick.,and on the metal end of the cable there is a groove about the same thickness.there is a metel clip that fits over the post and sits in that slit that holds the cable in place using that groove.you need that clip!
