Default hub slides into bearing

Ok so I'm doing my front wheel bearings and I'm concerned that the hub is toast. I can slide the hub half way into and out of the new bearing by hand. I would just buy new hubs, but I had an extra knuckle with hub sitting around and carefully hammered the hub out. It produced the same results.

Both hubs are wasted?

I'm versed in how to do a wheel bearing and hub(hub gets pressed into the bearing not the spindle). It is not me that damaged it or the hammering. You did not answer my question.
