Default Exhaust

Im getting ready to remove my Cat. I think it fractured and clogged. I noticed there are springs used with the bolts holding it on. Any reason for these springs? 90 CRX DX

My guess is for whenever you bottom out it helps flex cause if they were welded it would crack i guess it makes for easy replacement. It makes for easy bolt on bolt off. And btw all civics have this as far as i know.

As far as I know it's there for easy installation/removal of ****. If what you're talking about are the screws with the springs not directly on the cat but from what rudy said, right after the header. I'd definitely keep em.

They are on both sides of the cat. The bolts that hold the cat to the other flanges. 5 to be exact.
