replaced valve cover gasket, sitll leaking oil
i have a 95 integra gsr. b18c1
just installed a new valve cover gasket a little over a month ago when i bought my car beacuse oil was in the spark plugs and leaking everyhwere out of the sides of the valve cover.
so randomly i pop my hood today and there's fresh oil coming out of the sides of the valve cover...
i know it can't be the gasket, that thing is new... what could be my problem?

when i did this, i replaced the spark plug seals/gaskets as well
i also lined every single thing with ultra black or blue gasket. the valvecover gasket alone is not ENUF

I have never used any Hondabond or other gasket sealer on the Valve cover gasket. Never leaked any oil. Done it to plenty of cars.
yes its leaking on both sides of valve cover. and yes the valve cover was snug on. but if there is oil on my spark plugs then i don't know what it is. my mechanic said its a 6 hour job and he's gotta take the whole head apart to replace the part. he mentioned that my car will sometimes jerk when i accelerate because it's losing spark. which happens in 2nd gear all the time, it kind of jerks. i always thought it was becuase of my ecu tune but i dont think it is now.

It does NOT take 6 hours to do that...someone is trying to milk you. You should not need RTV everywhere if using the OEM gasket, just a bit around the cam caps as you replace the gasket....did you clean the mating surfaces well before reassembly?

valve seals.
Its a very simple job, remove spark plug wires, remove the 10mm bolts, pull the cover off remove all remaining liquid gasket from valve cover and head, put new valve cover gasket on valve cover, put liquid gasket on both sides of cam caps, install orings gaskets on valve cover, put valve cover back on motor, install the 10mm bolts back onto valve cover and snug to 7ftlbs going in star pattern. I've just done this and mine isnt leaking anymore.
take a picture and show us how much oil is on the spark plug tube. also, take out your spark plug, and see if it's oil on top or on the bottom.
if it's top, you have two choice's. valve cover gasket, or valve seal.
if it's bottom, head gasket, or piston rings.
this is usually the general issues, that cause's oil on the spark plugs.
If there is oil on "top" of plugs, [spark plug wells] the only place it can come from is the well O rings, no way is it coming from valve seals.
To OP,as mentioned, pull the VC, clean all surfaces install new, [OEM or better] gasket and O rings, do not cheap out on the gasket and O rings with cheap aftermarket stuff, also as mentioned no gasket "sealer" is needed anyplace except the cam caps.
I have done 100s of VC on many MM&Y of cars and have never had to use any kind of of gasket cement/sealer/goo, the trick is absolutely clean surfaces, make sure gasket/O rings are installed/placed properly and VC is torqued down properly, [right sequance and steps]. 94
yet, there are a million threads on this. the ones that find out it's from a improper valve cover gasket, they fix that and it's fine.
the other fix/replace's it, and there's still oil on the spark plug. for those, we never hear an update on.
Also make sure the bolts and nuts securing your valve cover aren't cross threaded. Happened to me earlier this year..all new seals and kept leaking. Realized the bolt was cross threaded so I couldn't tighten the nut down to specs.
Oh 6 hours to fix this? Walk away from that mechanic!!! Shouldn't take more than 20 mins!

take off valve cover
clean off ALL the sealant
buy honda oem gasket kit and a tube of honda bond
dap a pea size at the corners of the half circles
place the gaskets onto the valve covers and put the valve cover on the head
finger start each nut
tighten to 8-9ft in the correct sequence and you wont leak(i highly suggest a torque wrench becaues these nuts easily strip and you want it all to be evenly torqued)

X2^^
VC nut torque is 84 in-lbs sequence is...
1- inside back right.
2- inside front right
3- inside back left.
4- inside front left.
5- outside back right.
6- outside front right.
7- outside back left.
8- outside front left
Torquing the nuts should be in several stages in the pattern above. 94

lulz I never torque the VC nuts. Just use a 1/4" shorty ratchet, and hold the ratchet near the head and you'll be fine. I've removed my VC MANY, MANY times in the past 10 years, even reused the VC gasket many times (always clean off old sealant and apply new at cam cap corners) and have never had it leak through there.
Just snug them down in a criss-cross fashion in 2 or 3 steps and you should be good.
